Mythili Bachu – President and Chief Executive Officer

Lee Bachu

Mythili (“Lee”) Bachu is President and Chief Executive Officer. She provides leadership and strategic direction for the company's operating markets, plan services and corporate operations. Prior to joining URPC, Lee founded and operated MGA Consultants, Inc., a regional third-party qualified plan administrator where she was responsible for the management and oversight of all corporate functions, including finance, strategy, business process optimization, vendor platforms, innovation and technology development and use. Under her leadership, MGA Consultants experienced exponential growth by delivering best in class service and unparalleled client access to pension related resources tailored to specific needs.

Prior to founding MGA Consultants in 1997, Lee devoted her career to working with defined benefit and defined contribution plan service providers. Her immersion in the qualified plan world was the foundation of her broad and widely respected TPA experience and explains why she is recognized as an influential and top-performing leader in the TPA field.

Lee is a member of numerous industry associations. Among others, she is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries and the National Institute for Pension Actuaries. Lee has spoken extensively in a variety of venues on pension and retirement-related matters.

Aside from her industry affiliations and contributions, she participates extensively in a wide array of community activities while breaking down barriers and promoting service. Lee is Chair of the Council of Hindu Temples of North America (CHTNA), an association dedicated to promoting positive religious and cultural activities. She also serves on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the Interfaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington, a community-based organization that encourages all major faith communities to have dialogue and foster understanding and community. Previously, Lee was Chairperson of the Washington, DC area’s 20,000 strong Sri Siva Vishnu Temple, and in that capacity she led one of the largest Hindu temple organizations in the United States. The Governor of Maryland appointed her to the Maryland Commission for Women, a Maryland authorized body that guides anti-discrimination efforts and women’s issues through informed advice to the executive and legislative branches of the Maryland State Government. In August of 2015, Ms. Bachu was elected Chairperson.

Lee received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Madras, India where she graduated with honors, and also earned a MBA, Finance from the University of the District of Columbia. She is a registered Investment Advisor and the holder of a variety of industry-related regulatory licenses.

Lisle Smith – Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Lisle Smith

Lisle Smith joined United Retirement in March 2017 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Previous to joining URPC, he was the CFO for The CareWorks Family of Companies where he guided the growth of business from early stage startup through its ultimate sale in 2014. Lisle completed five business acquisitions and started two new companies. Combined, these contributed in excess of 50% of overall revenue. His responsibilities included oversight of accounting and finance, information technology, and legal. Lisle is a broad-based financial executive with experience delivering business growth and operational excellence in both manufacturing and service industries. He was vice president, planning and administration at The Scotts Company, where he was responsible for annual planning and budgeting activity and integration of acquired businesses.

Lisle graduated from Santa Clara University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of California (inactive).

Bob Zamary – Senior Vice President of Operations

Bob Zamary

Bob Zamary joined United Retirement in November 2015 as Senior Vice President of Operations.

Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Operations at ICS|Merrill, an international insurance services organization, and led all operational functions for the division, including developing, designing, and implementing strategic and tactical initiatives. Bob has over 20 years of experience in leadership roles in the insurance and TPA space, and has a successful track record of achieving operational excellence and process improvement to create customer-focused organizations. He also served as Senior Vice President, Client Enterprise Services, and Vice President of Claims Management for Patriot National Insurance Group and its subsidiary Patriot Risk Services.

Bob graduated from The Ohio State University and has participated in several industry groups, including the Risk & Insurance Management Society (RIMS), Self-Insured Institute of America (SIIA), American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and others.

Michael V Rocca – Corporate Controller

Michael Rocca has served as Corporate Controller of United Retirement Plan Consultants since July 2007.

Prior to joining United Retirement Plan Consultants, Mr. Rocca served as a Director of Investment Accounting from 2002 through 2007 for Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. In that capacity, Mr. Rocca led the unit responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of Nationwide’s $70 billion investment portfolio. Mr. Rocca’s 18-year career at Nationwide included a number of senior level positions, primarily in the accounting and financial reporting and analysis departments. Prior to joining Nationwide, Mr. Rocca served as an auditor for KPMG.

Mr. Rocca received a B.S.B.A – Accounting from The Ohio State University and is Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Ohio.

Kevin Catineau – Senior Vice President of National Sales and Marketing

Kevin Catineau

Kevin Catineau joined United Retirement in July 2016 as Senior Vice President of National Sales and Marketing.

Previously, he was TPA Market Director at MassMutual Financial Group where he created and implemented strategies to drive sales opportunities with TPAs in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic territories. During Kevin’s 20+ year career in the financial services space, he has served as a wholesaler for The Hartford and John Hancock; a manager for Putnam Investments and The Hartford; a financial advisor for ING Financial Partners; and a retirement plan consultant for Bank of America.

Kevin graduated from Saint Michael's College. He is a member of ASPPA and is also CRPS certified.

Lance Kesterson – Manager of Sales

Lance Kesterson joined United Retirement in April 2011.

Before joining United Retirement, Lance served as the Vice President and CFO for Nationwide Retirement Plans.

Throughout his career in financial services, he has served in multiple executive roles, including client relationship management, product development, pricing, project management, subsidiary general management and strategy formulation and execution.

Lance received both his MBA and undergraduate business degrees from The Ohio State University, and was recognized as a Weidlar Scholar having graduated in the top 10% of his MBA class.
